Shooting prompts Trump-style DOJ push for ballroom construction to resume

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche filed a federal court request on April 27 to lift a judge’s order halting President Donald Trump’s $400 million ballroom expansion, citing a filing style and tone reminiscent of Trump’s social media posts. The judge, Richard Leon, had previously ruled that construction must halt until Congress approves the project in response to a lawsuit by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
