A $500 million superyacht linked with Russia’s richest man was just able to pass through the blockaded Strait of Hormuz

Though the Strait of Hormuz has been effectively closed as the war in Iran enters its ninth week, one of the world’s largest luxury superyachts, the Nord, tied to Russian businessman Alexei Mordashov, managed to pass through the chokepoint. The 464-foot vessel left Port Rashid in Dubai and sailed through the Hormuz Strait before anchoring in Oman, according to maritime traffic tracking databases.
