Justice Department cites dinner shooting to press preservationists to drop Trump ballroom suit

President Donald Trump’s Justice Department is using the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday (Apr 25) to pressure preservationists to drop their lawsuit over his planned US$400 million ballroom on the former East Wing of the White House. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche issued a deadline for the National Trust for Historic Preservation to dismiss its lawsuit by 9am Monday, citing security concerns from the event at the Washington Hilton.
