3 dead, 3 ill in suspected hantavirus infections on cruise ship
Three passengers died and three others were treated for suspected hantavirus infections on a cruise ship in the Atlantic Ocean. One death was confirmed as hantavirus-related, involving a U.K. passenger who became ill during a voyage from St. Helena to Ascension Island. The other two deaths were of a married couple: a 70-year-old man in St. Helena and a 69-year-old woman who collapsed in Johannesburg before dying in the Netherlands.
