Another Instrument Shut Down on Voyager 1 to Extend its Interstellar Mission

The farthest spacecraft from Earth, the Voyager 1 probe, has just shut down another instrument to conserve power, which is critically low due to aging RTGs. The Low-energy Charged Particles (LECP) experiment, used to study solar wind and interstellar medium, was powered down to extend humanity’s first interstellar mission.
